It is indeed a pleasure to greet all members of the APAA family the best and the most during this New Year. I make the same wishes for all members of APAA’s extended family – the Observers who for many years have been joining us at our annual meetings.
Since assuming the presidency at the Kaohsiung General Assembly last November 8, 2006, I have been thinking a lot about the excellent initiatives that were pursued by my distinguished predecessors. What is clear is that we are gradually moving forward to a regime of transparency and good governance.
I intend to continue with the initiatives in this direction with a sense of “balance” and to pursue new ones in order to push APAA forward to become a stronger, cohesive and more dynamic organization. Among the main thrusts of my watch are internal strength, rational external relations, administrative and fiscal streamlining, and balanced fellowship and educational activities.
With the support of the Council, the standing committees and the ad hoc committees just created, I feel confident we can make significant strides towards the attainment of the objectives resulting from the above initiatives.
Let us all adopt fellowship, love and understanding, or “FLU”, as guideposts in our APAA Family life.
