T o : All Group Presidents/Council Members
cc : Membership Growth & Development Committee Individual Members
Subject : Macau Recognized Group
Dear Family:
February 25, 2008 is an important date in our extension program because it is the formal completion of the process of recognition for the Recognized Group of Macau as the newest (17th) Group in our APAA Family.
Let us all extend a warm Welcome to the 17th Recognized Group of Macau led by its President, Joao Encarnacao.
Following a 2-day meeting of the APAA ExCom and AdCom in Macau, the members of the Macau Group convened at the Grand Emperor Hotel in the evening of February 25 and signed their memorandum of association. They also elected their president, vice-president and secretary general. It was my pleasure and privilege, as APAA President, to extend formal recognition to the Group. With me at that time were SVPs Kenji Yoshida, Greg Munt C.K. Kwong, Secretary General Sadafumi Kobori, Treasurer Hirohito Katsunuma, and senior advisers Past President Dato Kandan (the Macau group was first formed during his term), Past President M.S. Kim, Councilors Kingson Lai, Pravin Anand and Dej-Udom Krairit. Past President Kiyoshi was also with us but had to leave earlier for Hong Kong. Significantly, the Macau Group has already adopted a program of activities for 2008.
I wish to encourage the Membership Growth and Development Committee and the Recognized Group of Hong Kong to keep a caring and watchful eye on our newest baby group from Macau.
Regards to all.
Sincerely yours,
